Rusko Reeks Of Reefer Support — Ready To Rock With Cypress Hill
For Colorado’s annual 4.20. celebration in honor of the marijuana plant, also otherwise known as the 20th of April to non-smokers – Rusko, well he’s down like a clown with the 4.20 crew (aka Christopher Mercer), the renown musical dubsteping music maker from across the pound over in foggy old England, is importing his act to the 1STBANK Center for the second annual levitate festival, along with Paper Diamond, DJ Shadow, and Pictureplane. With all of this success at his door step, It was time someone asked a few questions of this purveyor of mad 420 beats from across the pound.
Why is it that Dubstep has blown up recently, particularly within the last few years, and most particularly here in the U.S. with the wacky weed smokers.
With higher crowds at these drug culture music festivals, it’s hard-pressed dubstepping pushed “harder” and thicker beats. There have been some great 420 riffs that have come out of this Smokey process – However there has also been some pure swag songs that were cultivated from it as well.
When asked about hanging out with Cypress Hill this summer Rusko replied; Hell Yeah, I’m real excited to get out these new tracks I have with Cypress Hill. It will be coming out around late May on Co-Op. The project just came out real naturally — the guys were open to experimentation, which is always a plus. I would love to keep working on new music projects/releases.
In Colorado, 4/20 is like a holiday, seeing as we de-criminalized marijuana in certain instances. What are your thoughts on medical marijuana, and would you qualify as a patient?
I, of course, support medical marijuana, and I am clearly a patient.
