This bountiful gift of pot however may have got him into more trouble than he was expecting. Metro authorities have released the cop who smokes cannabis after he was arrested with his wife for chucking a bag filled with marijuana edibles that was a gift they received from a friend for their wedding. The gift came from a friend savvy with marijuana recipes.

Edward Karl was only on the police force for 2 weeks before the marijuana incidence. The ex-officer was returning home with his new wife from their honeymoon in marijuana friendly California when a drug point check made them exit the freeway earlier. Kansas officers saw his wife throw a bag out the speeding car which turned out to be full of marijuana brownies and other cannabis laced edibles. After they were detained, Karl’s story changed from one story to the next.

The lovebirds were staying in California, with its medical marijuana dispensaries being under attack by the federal government, were staying with a friend with a medical marijuana card.
