Instead of the traditional toaster or wok for a wedding gift, a Tennessee police office got a 420 friendly gift that any stoner would love – a big bag of marijuana. This bountiful gift of pot however may have got him into more trouble than he was expecting. Metro authorities have released the cop who smokes cannabis after he was arrested with his wife for chucking a bag filled with marijuana edibles that was a gift they received from a friend for their wedding. The gift came from a friend savvy with marijuana recipes.

Edward Karl was only on the police force for 2 weeks before the marijuana incidence. The ex-officer was returning home with his new wife from their honeymoon in marijuana friendly California when a drug point check made them exit the freeway earlier. Kansas officers saw his wife throw a bag out the speeding car which turned out to be full of marijuana brownies and other cannabis laced edibles. After they were detained, Karl’s story changed from one story to the next.

The lovebirds were staying in California, with its medical marijuana dispensaries being under attack by the federal government, were staying with a friend with a medical marijuana card. The medical marijuana patient gave the couple a bevy of marijuana treats instead of the obligatory boring gift found at Sears. Instead of going to Napa and drinking wine getting drink, this couple chose to go to smoke pot and get blazed.

Both were charged with possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. It’s a shame the couple lost such a fabulous gift of aromatic cannabis, but it’s not like the couple would have used a pocket fisherman, polka-dot-salt-n-pepper-shakers or something else that’s a trainwreck of an gift.
