Tennessee Billboard In Favor of Marijuana Legalization
Aug
The state affiliate of NORML, the group which searches for marijuana legalization, is producing a more ambitious drive in Tennessee with the introduction of a billboard nearby the Capitol. The billboard helps make the case for marijuana and medical use – with the medical marijuana community backing the billboard. It’ll be revealed at 11 a.m. Saturday on the corner of Gay Street and Third Avenue North.
“It is time for Tennessee to seriously consider the facts about medical marijuana,” stated Doak Patton, chief executive of Tennessee NORML. “It’s time to end the war on medical cannabis that’s targeting sick and elderly Americans.”
The billboard contains the stony message “It’s time for an honest discussion about medical marijuana” and depicts an older woman with a short, small child. She asks if it is “a crime for a grandmother to use medicine to help with her pain.”
The billboard is planned to be up for around 6 months. Patton mentioned Tennessee NORML is also contemplating additional marketing avenues to get out its information.
17 states and the District of Columbia have passed marijuana laws to legalize medical marijuana, but none so far is in the South. Hopefully Tennessee withh be the 1st state in the South to roll up a joint and medicate wihtout any problems.
